Divorce mediation saves money
Generally, mediation is far less expensive than litigation. Litigation is geared toward preparing for a possible trial, and therefore includes numerous legal expenses that simply aren't necessary in mediation -- such as extensive discovery, motions, oppositions, hearings, etc. These combined expenses can easily mount into the tens of thousands of dollars. At Get Divorce Solutions you both share the cost of the mediators. If lawyers are involved, they play an advisory -- not adversarial -- role in the process. With our assistance, you can reach a settlement agreement more quickly and at a fraction of the cost of litigation and/or trial in court..
Free half-hour orientation Session
You will meet with our co-mediation team - Esther Macner and Raphael Lapin. We will answer your questions and set an appointment for your schedule of sessions. Or you may proceed directly to your first session.
We do not require a retainer
You simply pay at the beginning of each session, by credit card, check or cash for that session. Co-mediation time is charged on an hourly basis with one rate that includes both mediators.
we charge a flat-fee for drafting and filing of all documents
The flat fee includes your final Judgment to be signed by a judge that incorporates your mediated stipulation of settlement. The flat fee plus the court fees are due at the end of our first session. Upon payment of drafting/filing and court fees, and we may immediately file the Petition that triggers the 6 months waiting period required in California for getting a divorce.
In general, the retainer charged by most divorce lawyers will be equal to or greater than the entire cost of a mediated divorce. Just as importantly, there will only be one fee for both of you, not two.
